Going Home: Make It Right Organization

Well, there are a lot of things we can all do.

We can donate money, if we have it.

We can collect outgrown clothes and toys and donate.

When we only have time, if we are so lucky, then we can donate that and it is invaluable.

I’m just on the learning curve with “Make It Right”: bringing people back to their homes in New Orleans.

I’m thinking it’s worth a look, they say you can pledge to buy a solar panel, a home, perhaps a door? For some of us, maybe we can only donate the price of a lock or a bit of sunshine.

At any rate, take a look, let’s make someone’s day……………MakeItRight Nola.Org

  1. Hi {{SE}}] !!

I have a question, for this subject of rebuilding New orleans has been on my mind but, not as anyone would suspect. It’s ‘me’ after all.

I’m coming from the persepctive of a Steward of planetary resources. As Steward, I count every 2×4. Each one represents the life of a tree.

And I really do consider it a foolish use of planetary resources to continue to build in an area below sea level. In an area that is only going to continue to sink to even lower depths below sea level. As part of the natural geography of the area.

  2. :) Thanks for mentioning this, S.E. Not only does it sound like a great organization, but anything that Brad is involved in is ‘mmmmmm mmmmm GOOD’ in my book :D

  3. Sue: Blessings. I believe we are all a part of the earth and home, home is what defines us. For some, home may be that part of the world, that sliver, they call New Orleans. Who am I to judge?

    Mark: Amen.

    Grace: Keep it rolling.

  4. You speak of ‘home’ while the money is for ‘house’. There is a difference. If we were at ‘home’ in our ‘houses’ we wouldn’t live so fear-filled lives all the time and ‘security’ wouldn’t be an issue, would it?

I call the desires emotionally retarded, selfish, spoiled and small minded. A waste of money in order to cater to and enable emotional dependency patterns. All ego driven by emotional insecurities.

And I make no judgements about any of these behaviours of ours being ‘bad’ or ‘good’. I simply state what they ARE.

So what if our behaviour isn’t complimentary? It’s what our illusions have been covering up because the only lies we can sell, are the ones we believe in ourselves.

  5. Sue:

Home is where the soil meets our feet. Where it smashes between our toes. Where we know not why we walk, but that we do.

I cannot sit in judgment of those that call New Orleans their home.

Should we be subjected to another’s view of statistical reliability in the safety of house environments before we can sanction the use of the word home?

I cannot sit in that place, nor can any living on this Earth.

    Peace as awalys.
